Demna is sticking with Balenciaga!
According to WWD, the Georgian fashion designer and Vetements co-founder has renewed his contract as Balenciaga’s creative director for an unspecified term.
Now in his 9th year with Balenciaga, Demna took the reigns of the fashion house’s creative director back in 2015 where Alexander Wang previously held the title. Known for his disruptive approach to fashion, where every aspect from the clothing, runways shows, and even the invites has his personal touches tied to them, Balenciaga has become one of the most exciting names in fashion and has taken off with the Chinese consumer.
Owned by Kering Group, Balenciaga recently debuted its Spring/Summer 2025 collection which acted as a tribute to fashion, while emphasising Demna’s commitment and love for what he does. According to Saba Bakhia of Demnagram, the invitation furthered this notion as it arrived in the form of a wedding ring, symbolizing that “Demna is married to fashion.”
While there is no given news on how long the extension of his tenure was renewed for, fans are happy that the groundbreaking designer will have a few more shows under his belt with one of the most exciting brands of today.
