If there’s one thing Christian Louboutin knows how to do, it’s putting on a show that lingers in one’s memory long after the last note fades. His latest spring/summer 2025 presentation was no exception—an enthralling performance that transformed Paris’s Piscine Molitor into a stage where fashion and art danced in the most dazzling way. Crafted in collaboration with David LaChapelle’s vision and choreographed by Blanca Li, this was far from your typical show—it was an electrifying spectacle.
An ode to the water ballets of 1950s Hollywood, the presentation was a charming reminder that fashion, dance, and sport harmonise in a shared creative rhythm. Nothing short of dreamy, the performance was infused with splashes of theatricality and nostalgia that trickled throughout.
With LaChapelle’s cinematic projections bathing the pool in a riot of colour, the setting conjured a sense of scenic magic. Complementing the scene were fountains and a giant pair of metallic heels—the Miss Z pump, the house’s new silhouette set to debut early next year. The dramatic opening set the tone, thickening the atmosphere with anticipation. In a captivating flourish, swimmers from the French Olympic artistic swimming team gracefully descended from the towering pair of heels. Clad in the fresh Miss Z pumps themselves, they glided into the pool, their synchronised movements perfectly harmonising with the dreamy live vocals.
Just when the spectacle seemed to reach its zenith, LaChapelle himself plunged into the pool, joining the splashy revelry. This was soon followed by the man of the hour—Christian Louboutin himself—who playfully slid down the giant mule, bringing the show to an unforgettable close. Yet, amidst all the theatrics, the true star of the evening was the lustrous Miss Z pump. Opulent and unapologetically dramatic, the maison’s latest silhouette is poised to become a modish fixture in the upcoming season. Louboutin’s gift for artistry was on full display, proving once again why his illustrious name remains a mainstay in all things shiny and stylish.
A revelatory exploration of creative expression, Christian Louboutin’s spring/summer 2025 collection was a chromatic symphony of colour, movement, and pure creative effervescence. The presentation undoubtedly left the audience spellbound, and buzzing with excitement for the next chapter in Louboutin’s narrative of style brilliance.
